1. Introduction
At MaxPlay, we prioritize your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our media player application ("App") and website.
2. Data Collection and Usage
MaxPlay is designed to be a privacy-first application. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect personal identifiable information (PII) by default.
Prominent Disclosure: All Files Access Permission
MaxPlay requires the MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (All Files Access) permission.
Why is this required? As a core media player application, MaxPlay's primary purpose is to discover, manage, and play local video and audio files scattered across your device's storage. Without this permission, the app cannot scan directories outside of its own isolated storage to find your media files.
How is it used? This permission is used strictly and exclusively to scan for local media files (like .mp4, .mkv, .mp3) to display them in your library and allow you to play them. We do not use this permission to access personal documents, photos, or non-media files.
Data Privacy: All file scanning and playback happens 100% locally on your device. We do not upload, share, transmit, or analyze your media files or file names on any external servers.
- Local Media: The App requires permission to access files on your device solely for the purpose of playing your local audio and video files.
- IPTV Playlists: Any M3U playlists you load into the App are stored locally on your device. We do not track what you watch.
- Analytics: We may collect anonymous, aggregated crash reports and usage statistics to improve the App's stability. This can be disabled in the settings.
3. Third-Party Services
Our App may contain links to third-party services or integrate with third-party APIs (e.g., for fetching movie metadata or subtitles). These services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their data practices.
4. Data Security
We implement standard security measures to ensure any preferences or settings stored on your device are kept secure. Since we do not transmit your local media data over the internet, the risk of data breaches related to your personal files is negligible.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
